Colorado State's Nique Clifford Declares for 2024 NBA Draft

Nique Clifford, a 6-foot-6 wing from Colorado State, has informed League Him that he will declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. "I’m going in the Draft process to prove myself and show everyone that I'm a sleeper. I want to prove everyone wrong and surprise a lot of people."

In a breakout senior season at Colorado State, Clifford emerged as one of the top under-the-radar NBA prospects in college basketball, showcasing his all-around skillset with averages of 12.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1 block per game. This followed three seasons at Colorado, during which he averaged 5.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in 19.3 minutes per game.

His versatility, feel for the game, and winning impact on both ends of the floor for the 25-11, NCAA Tournament-reaching CSU Rams garnered NBA attention. He operated efficiently throughout the season, converting 60% of his two-point attempts and 38% from three-point range. Additionally, he ranked in the 97th percentile nationally out of spot-ups per Synergy Sports.

Speaking to his versatility:

"I think my versatility translates as I can guard, pass, rebound, and score at three levels. I think I can come in right away and make an impact in those little categories and continue to build over my career to expand my role."

On Transfer to Colorado State

"It was a great move for me. The coaches put me in positions to flourish and just allowed me to play through mistakes. It was just a really good fit especially cause they recruited me out of high school. It all came full circle but I know it happened that way because of God's plan."

On Breakout Season

"I really worked a lot over the offseason of just repping out my jumper and getting that consistent, as well as tightening my handle. I think my biggest leap though, was just getting back to full confidence."

Pros He Studies

"I have always loved Kobe so I watch a lot of film on him to learn. I really like Shai and Tyrese right now though to watch. Many people compare me to Jalen Williams or Mikal Bridges so I try to watch them as well."

Mindset/Goals for this Draft Process

"I’m going in the process to prove myself and show everyone that I'm a sleeper. Want to prove everyone wrong and surprise a lot of people."
